1. Who We Are

HorseSource USA ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application that helps horse owners find equine service providers — including farriers, veterinarians, trainers, and more — in their area. The app is available on iOS.

2. Information We Collect

From Horse Owners (Browsing Users)

• Location data — with your permission, we use your device location to show service providers near you. We do not store your location on our servers. Location is processed on-device and used only during an active search session.

From Service Providers (Listed Businesses)

• Account information — email address and password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication)
• Listing information — business name, phone number, website URL, service address or service area, description, specialties, and whether you are accepting new clients
• Profile coordinates — latitude and longitude associated with your listed service location, used to display your pin on the map

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect payment card numbers (payments, when enabled, are handled entirely by Stripe — see Section 6)
• We do not collect browsing history, contacts, photos, or any data unrelated to finding or listing equine services
• We do not track users across third-party apps or websites

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only to:

• Display provider listings to horse owners searching in their area
• Authenticate providers and maintain their account and listing
• Send account-related emails (e.g., password resets) through Firebase
• Improve the functionality and performance of the app

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

4. Our Commitment: We Never Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, trade, lease, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes. This applies to all users — horse owners and service providers alike.

5. How We Share Information

Provider listing information (business name, phone, website, location, and specialties) is intentionally public within the app — it is displayed to horse owners searching for services. This is the core purpose of the app, and providers consent to this visibility when creating a listing.

We do not share personal account information (email address or password) with other users or any third party, except as described in Section 6.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party services to operate HorseSource USA. Each has its own privacy policy governing their data practices:

• Firebase Authentication & Firestore (Google) — stores provider accounts and listing data securely. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Stripe (when payment features are active) — processes subscription payments for provider listings. We never see or store your card details. Stripe Privacy Policy
• Apple MapKit — powers the in-app map. Apple's location framework is used on-device and subject to Apple's Privacy Policy

7. Data Security

Provider accounts are protected by Firebase Authentication, which uses industry-standard encryption for passwords. Listing data is stored in Google Firestore with access rules that prevent unauthorized reads or writes. We do not store sensitive personal data on our own servers.

While no system is completely secure, we take reasonable technical measures to protect the information we hold.

8. Data Retention

Provider listing data is retained as long as the account is active. If you wish to delete your account and have your listing removed, contact us at hello@horsesourceusa.com and we will delete your data within 30 days.

Horse owners who only browse the app do not create an account and no personal data is stored on our servers.

9. Children's Privacy

HorseSource USA is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information in your listing
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Withdraw consent for location access at any time through your device settings

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information, so the opt-out right does not apply — but all other rights are available by contacting us.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify active provider accounts by email. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
